Swami Aaron’s Musings on Consciousness- Part 1
Sutra 1:
Knowing the knower, experiencing the experiencer is meditation. Knowing the known, experiencing the experienced is worldly journey.
Sutra 2:
Be conscious of being conscious of something. When your first realm of consciousness evolves and expands, it becomes conscious of second realm of consciousness devoid of its object. This way consciousness mirrors consciousness and as it happens, infinite is reflected. Consciousness shifts from localization to non-localization pervading the entire existence.
Sutra 3:
When you are conscious, you live your life. When you are unconscious, your life lives you. The level of consciousness determines whether you are just a biological system or a living sentient being.
Sutra 4:
When you live together in a family in consideration of convenience and security of future, we lose our present. When family is disintegrated, when we live separately, alone on our own, we always live our life comparatively in present, in the state of Here and Now, which reminds of our own individual existence all the time.
Wife, children, relatives, friends, society and the whole world are the tools of escape from our self. We can not realize our self in collectivity. That’s why, earlier seers used to live in isolation.
Sutra 5:
When you are with yourself, there are two possibilities. Either you wander at the surface of yourself and ultimately make yourself fall into a pit of unconsciousness; or the other possibility is to explore yourself inside, going in the subtle mystery of different plane of your existence and that of the whole manifested and un-manifested cosmic existence. It depends upon your intelligence that which possibility you opt for. Second option, though is a very difficult journey, but, it will ultimately lead you to the infinite eternal ocean of ultimate bliss which the social world can never give to you.
Sutra 6:
The social consciousness has not yet evolved to that level of maturity that it allows individual level of human consciousness to express itself with ultimate freedom.
Sutra 7:
Brain is the biggest barrier in the realization of God i.e. Super-consciousness; but, at the same time, it is the only instrument which can take you to the gate of God. If you don’t use your brain in the pursuit of spirituality, then, you will result into either creating your own God or God created by others having the same attitude, with the impression of having realized God.
So, you have to learn the art of using your brain in order to unravel the vast divine esoteric mystery. Remember that you have to use your brain; your brain should not use you. Most of people are enslaved by their brain shacked with unrealized beliefs.
Sutra 8:
Borrowed truth is no truth for you. Only realized truth is the true truth for you. Borrowed but unrealized truth is equivalent to falsehood.
Sutra 9:
Clarity of understanding comes in difficult time, not when you are not facing any problem. Challenges enable you to go into the profundity of existential mystery. So, don’t escape challenges; rather encounter them with courage.
Sutra 10:
Ability to form a rhythmic pattern in consciousness is called creativity.
